
On June 1, 2026, at 1410 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department was dispatched to the 5800 block of Bunt Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana, in response to a 9-1-1 call regarding an adult female who was reportedly throwing items from a second-story apartment window.

Details/Summary:
On Monday, June 1, 2026, at approximately 2:10 p.m., officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched in response to a 9-1-1 call regarding an adult female who was reportedly throwing items from a second-story apartment window. Based on the information received, the incident was believed to involve a possible mental health crisis.
Upon arrival, officers heard the female actively breaking windows inside the apartment. Officers made multiple attempts to communicate with her and requested that she exit the apartment; however, she refused to comply. Due to the circumstances, supervisors requested additional specialized resources.
Members of the Crisis Negotiation Team and Emergency Services Team responded to the scene and are actively working to bring the situation to a safe resolution. Negotiators are currently in communication with an Allen County judge regarding a mental health evaluation order.
The public is asked to avoid the area while officers continue their efforts to resolve the incident safely and peacefully.
