
On June 1, 2026, at 1720 hours, after members of the FWPD Emergency Services Team deployed a chemical agent into an apartment in the 5800 block of Bunt Drive which resulted in a female exiting the residence without further incident, ending a barricade situation.

Details/Summary Update:
Negotiators were able to establish communication with the female inside the apartment; however, she continued to refuse requests to exit and eventually threw her phone out of a window, ending direct communication.
At approximately 5:20 p.m., after members of the Emergency Services Team deployed a chemical agent into the apartment, the female exited the residence without further incident. She was taken into custody for her safety and transported to a local hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Due to the medical nature of this incident, the individual’s identity will not be released in order to protect her privacy.
Correction: The incident occurred in a ground-level apartment. Previous information indicating the apartment was located on the second floor was incorrect.
