Today, Indiana Governor Mike Braun announced the state of Indiana will host one-stop shops in LaPorte and Hamilton counties.

Gov. Braun Brings Additional One-Stop Shop Locations to Hoosiers Recovering From August Severe Weather
Indianapolis, Indiana (September 29, 2026) – Today, Gov. Braun announced the state of Indiana will host one-stop shops in LaPorte and Hamilton counties, bringing disaster recovery resources directly to survivors.
“Hoosiers, if you or your family was impacted by August’s devastating storms, be sure you apply for federal assistance before FEMA’s October 25 deadline,” said Gov. Braun. “I have directed resources like the one-stop shops, mobile registration intake centers and pop-up shops to be made available in impacted communities, ensuring all needs of Hoosiers recovering from these storms are met.”
To date, more than 5,000 storm impacted Hoosiers have visited in-person sites for assistance, and nearly $120 million from FEMA has been disbursed to 28,935 applicants. The deadline to apply for FEMA’s Individual Assistance is Oct. 25, 2026.
The one-stop shops bring representatives from multiple agencies together to a single location to provide information on available resources and assist Hoosiers in navigating the recovery process. Several services, including the ones listed below, may be completed on-site, helping residents get the support they need more efficiently.
Federal assistance:
- FEMA: Individual Assistance application support
- U.S. Small Business Administration: Disaster loan information for individuals
State assistance:
- Housing support: Temporary housing assistance
- Social services: Crisis counseling and mental health service referrals
- Insurance guidance: Help reviewing insurance policies and replacing documents
- Motor vehicle assistance: Support with registrations and licenses
- Public health resources: Vaccination records, vital records (birth and death certificates), tetanus shots and cleanup guidance
- State Disaster Relief Fund: Assistance with SDRF applications
