The Fort Wayne Police Department arrested Kevin Smith on a Felony charge of Murder in relation to a homicide in the 7900 block of Decatur Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, on April 28, 2026.

Details/Summary:
On April 27, 2026, at approximately 1459 hours, Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 7900 block of Decatur Road in reference to a disturbance. Officers arrived and located a deceased adult female victim. Detectives with the FWPD Homicide Unit responded and conducted a criminal investigation.
After a thorough investigation, FWPD Homicide Detectives identified Kevin Smith, 23 years old, as a suspect in the investigation. The suspect was apprehended at the time of the initial response from law enforcement. Smith was preliminarily charged with Murder.
