FWPD: Fatal Pedestrian/Vehicle Hit-and-Run Accident, 200 East Rudisill Boulevard

On April 29, 2026, at 0141 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department was dispatched to a report of a pedestrian struck in the 200 block of East Rudisill Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Details/Summary:

On April 29, 2026, at 1:41am, officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck in the 200 block of E. Rudisill Blvd. Officers arrived and located an adult female in the roadway who appeared to be in life-threatening condition. The adult female was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

Initial information indicates the female was crossing the roadway southbound, when a larger SUV traveling eastbound struck the female. This SUV then fled the scene. There is no further description at this time.

Investigators are currently processing the scene and searching for any evidence, including any video surveillance from the numerous nearby businesses.

The exact cause and manner of death, as well as the identity of the deceased, will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
