On April 14, 2026, at 1641 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to an apartment fire at the Wildwoods Apartments in the 3400 block of Portage Boulevard, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Time of Alarm: 1641 hours
On Scene: 1644 hours
Under Control: 1707 hours
Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke showing from an apartment. Crews pulled attack hose lines and extinguished a kitchen fire.
Firefighters conducted searches of all the apartments affected by smoke and fire, but residents had safely self-evacuted.
FWFD investigators remained on scene to determine the cause and origin.
