(July 2, 2018) – Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry will announce his plans to run for a fourth term as the City’s highest office holder on Monday, July 2, at 5:30 p.m. at the David Hefner Pavilion, Franklin School Park, 1903 St. Mary’s Ave., Fort Wayne.

If elected to an unprecedented fourth, four-year term as Fort Wayne’s Mayor, Henry says his administration will focus on public safety, neighborhood improvements, good stewardship of taxpayer money, and a continuation of the economic prosperity the city has enjoyed during the mayor’s previous terms in office.

“I’m proud of the progress we’ve made over the past decade to showcase Fort Wayne as the country’s best mid-sized city by nearly every measure,” Henry says. “But we still have work to do. I want to see through completion the exciting economic initiatives we’ve begun, while also concentrating on quality of life issues that have made Fort Wayne a sought-after destination to live, work and play.”

Henry said that while everyone can celebrate the momentum of the City’s revitalized downtown, he is constantly keeping a pulse on the needs and wants of the residents from every corner of the City Fort Wayne.

“I understand that brick and mortar projects are essential to our economic development efforts,” Henry says. “But make no mistake: It is our citizens who make this community a great place to call home.”

Henry will provide more specifics about his plans for a fourth mayoral term during the press conference. He will be introduced by Iric Headley, Director of Fort Wayne UNITED, the city-sponsored initiative that enhances opportunities for black men and boys through programs on health, violence prevention, education and employment, with an emphasis on family.
