Incident report

Narrative By: FWPD Officer Klein

On May 31st, 2016 at approximately 0017 hours, I responded to the Phillips 66 located at 249 East Rudisill Boulevard. regarding an armed robbery. The complainant ########### (store employee) called to report that the business was robbed approximately 5-7 minutes prior by a male black wearing a blue hoodie that came around the counter, yelled “Give Me the Money!”, but then got scared and ran off, leaving in a vehicle.

I arrived and made contact with #######. ######## advised that approximately 10 minutes prior, the business was robbed. ###### stated he was working behind the counter and a male black entered the store, going directly to the rear near the freezers. ####### described the male black as likely in his thirties, approximately six feet tall, wearing a royal blue and gray striped shirt, black shorts, white socks, black shoes, and had short “corn row” style hair. ###### stated the male went behind a display, pulled a handgun from his waistline, and approached him at the counter, pointing the weapon directly at him. ##### stated the male yelled “Give me the Money” and he moved to a different register. ##### stated the male then panicked and fled out the front door without taking anything.

In reviewing the in-store video, the above description of the suspect appeared accurate. The suspect appeared to be armed with a silver semi-automatic handgun. ####### surmised the suspect fled the business in a vehicle. ###### stated immediately following the robbery, he ran behind the business and saw three vehicles fleeing the scene. ######## stated he followed a dark colored Ford Expedition from the scene but it ended up being a female that wasn’t involved. ######## stated there was an approximate ten minute delay in contacting police since he attempted to chase the suspect(s).

The in-store video that ###### provided was clear and provided a good picture of the suspect with facial recognition. ###### stated he couldn’t provide the video to police tonight but would burn video of the incident to a thumb drive and follow up the following day to have it submitted for evidence. FWPD Detective Bureau (Det. N. Banks) was notified of the incident and asked that the report be forwarded to DB for follow up because all detectives were busy with cases.
