Annual Fort Wayne Fire Department Service Awards tonight

WHO: Fort Wayne Fire Department

WHAT: Annual Fort Wayne Fire Department Service Awards

WHERE: Ivy Tech North Campus, 3800 N. Anthony Blvd.

WHEN: Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.

WHY: The Honorable Mayor Tom Henry, Public Safety Director Rusty York and Fire Chief Eric Lahey will honor firefighters and citizens Wednesday, October 7 at the annual Fort Wayne Fire Department Service Awards at Ivy Tech North Campus.

Beginning at 7 p.m., the award recipients to be honored include:

Citizen Meritorious Award

  • Tim Miller – For initiating and rendering lifesaving first aid to a citizen after she collapsed on February 6, 2014.
  • OC Corey – For his lifesaving response and actions to contain and extinguish an apartment fire on December 18, 2014.
  • Sarah Brady and Joseph Korreck – For their lifesaving actions and efforts at a motor vehicle vs. pedistrian accident on I-69 on December 26, 2014.

 

Firefighter Meritorious Award

  • Private Bryan Sorgen – For his lifesaving response and actions at a motor vehicle accident with a car into a tree on May 14, 2014.

 

Unit Commendation Award
