Here’s a list of potential candidates who have formed exploratory committees that have not scheduled or made an official announcement regarding a possible run in the 2011 Primary:
- Melissa Hicks, Republican – Fort Wayne City Council, 6th District (currently held by Democratic incumbent Glynn Hines who has not made an official announcement regarding re-election) | campaign website
- Russell Jehl, Republican – Fort Wayne City Council, 2nd District (currently held by Democratic incumbent Karen Goldner who has not made an official announcement regarding re-election)
- Frederick Osheskie, Sr., Republican – Mayor of Fort Wayne (currently held by Democratic incumbent Tom Henry who has not made an official announcement regarding re-election)
If Russell Jehl decides to run for the 2nd District Council seat, he will face Jerome Gaines, who announced November 17, 2010. Â Republican Don Bobay had announced on September 21, 2010, but we were told last month that he had dropped out of the race.
As far as the Mayor’s race goes, if Osheskie throws his hat into the ring, he’ll face Allen County Councilwoman Paula Hughes and Fort Wayne City Councilwoman Liz Brown. Â Eric Doden announced he’d formed a committee on November 4, 2010, but we’ve heard nothing further from him.
The three names above were taken from a form CFA-1 which was filed with the Allen County Election Board.
