Senate Bill 17

I received the following from Indiana State Senator Robert Meeks via email:

Senate Bill 17 passed the Senate in its third reading on January 22nd with a final vote of forty-seven yeas and zero nays. The bill was then referred to the House of Representatives Committee on Ways and Means; however, the bill was not granted a hearing by the Chairman of the committee. I will keep your thoughts in mind if similar legislation is introduced in a future session; as of now, I cannot determine the future of the bill.

For the record, I emailed Indiana State Representative Crawford who is Chariman of the House Committee on Ways and Means for more information.  To date, no response.
