Fort Wayne Police Department incident report:

Date: May 25, 2026

Location: 2700 block of West Washington Center Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana

Time: 1130 hours

Details/Summary:

At approximately 11:30 a.m., a resident in the 2700 block of W. Washington Center Road returned home and discovered the door to the residence had been barricaded from the inside. Officers responded to assist the homeowner.

While checking the interior, officers located an adult male barricaded inside a bedroom. The individual stated he was armed. The Emergency Services Team (EST), Air Support Unit (ASU), and Crisis Response Team (CRT) were requested to assist.

Officers were able to make intermittent contact with the male and located a recently recorded video of him. Based on the video, the limited communication, and his prior history, it was determined that the individual was experiencing a mental health crisis.

CRT and EST established extended communication with him. At approximately 4:20 p.m., CRT successfully persuaded the male to come out of the barricaded room. He was taken into custody by EST without incident and transported to a local hospital for medical treatment related to his mental health crisis.
