NWS: Flood Warnings issued for local rivers

The National Weather Service has issued multiple Flood Warnings for several local rivers.

...The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a
Flood Warning for the following rivers in Indiana...Ohio...

Wabash River at Wabash affecting Cass IN, Miami and Wabash
Counties.

Saint Marys River near Decatur affecting Adams, Allen IN and Van
Wert Counties.

Saint Marys River at St. Mary`s River near Fort Wayne affecting
Allen IN County.

For the Wabash River...including Linn Grove, Bluffton IN, Wabash,
Logansport...Moderate flooding is forecast.
For the Saint Marys River...including Decatur, St. Mary`s River near
Fort Wayne...Moderate flooding is forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS EVENING TO TUESDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Saint Marys River near Decatur.

* WHEN...From this evening to Tuesday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 21.5 feet, High water affects Piqua Rd...Ohio State
Route 49 near the state line along with east side Decatur streets.
Residential flooding begins on East Jackson and Ogg Streets.
Bellmont High School grounds begin flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 12:45 AM EDT Wednesday, September 16 the stage was 3.9 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this
evening to a crest of 21.5 feet early Sunday morning. It will
then fall below flood stage early Monday afternoon.
- Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
