Traffic Alert: One-Block Lane Closure on W Washington Starts Thursday
Fort Wayne, Indiana (September 15, 2026) – Field Operations will be replacing a lead water service line along West Washington Boulevard starting Thursday, September 17.
Beginning at 8:00 AM, the left lane of westbound Washington Boulevard will be closed for one block, between Nelson Street and Garden Street. Westbound traffic will continue through the area in the right lane. Motorists may experience delays. The closure is expected to last two days.
The work is part of City Utilities’ effort to help homeowners replace private lead service lines—the portion of the water line on private property that runs from the home’s meter to the Utility’s connection point.
