Fort Wayne Posts Two Big Innings to Win Final Home Game of 2026
Fort Wayne, Indiana (August 30, 2026) – The Fort Wayne TinCaps scored eight unanswered runs in the fourth and fifth innings to win the final home game of the 2026 season, 9-3, over the Dayton Dragons (Reds affiliate) at Parkview Field.
Fort Wayne (52-72, 25-33) hit three doubles to get on the board in the fourth inning, scoring three runs and taking the lead for good. Catcher Robbie Lavey (Padres No. 20 prospect) brought home a pair with his double and would drive in two more an inning later on a base hit.
Designated hitter Lamar King Jr. (No. 27 Padres prospect) finished the afternoon with three extra-base-hits, capping it off with an RBI triple in the seventh inning. King collected four RBI, with him and Lavey teaming up to drive in eight of the TinCaps’ nine runs.
Right-hander Winyer Chourio (No. 15 Padres prospect) got his third victory of the campaign in High-A in his final start at home this year. He allowed two runs across five innings while giving up four hits and four strikeouts.
Dayton (64-60, 25-33) blasted a pair of homers in the loss, giving them 11 in this six-game series at Parkview Field. Second baseman Eric Becker (No. 7 Reds prospect) hit his first long ball of the series with a solo shot in the second inning.
Catcher John Michael Faile hit his third homer in as many days and his 13th of the season in the seventh frame. Faile has 30 home runs as a Dragon across the last three seasons, tying a franchise record set by Chris Williamson (2000-02). First baseman Ty Doucette reached base in three plate appearances.
