Due to poor field conditions, Sunday afternoon’s game two between the Fort Wayne TinCaps and the Great Lakes Loons at Dow Diamond has been suspended in the top of the fifth inning.

TinCaps and Loons Suspended in Game Two Sunday
‘Caps and Loons to Continue Game in Top of the Fifth on To Be Determined DateMidland, Michigan (August 2, 2026) – Due to poor field conditions, Sunday afternoon’s game two between the Fort Wayne TinCaps (45-55, 18-16) and the Great Lakes Loons (55-43, 19-15) at Dow Diamond has been suspended in the top of the fifth inning.
The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader at a to-be-determined date between Aug. 18-23 at Parkview Field. The game will resume in the top of the fifth inning with the ‘Caps leading 6-2. It will remain a seven-inning game.
After being suspended on Saturday night in the bottom half of the second inning, Fort Wayne held onto a 12-5 win once play resumed on Sunday. Before the game was suspended due to rain on Saturday night, the ‘Caps already led 7-0, helped out by a five-run first and two-run second inning.
Right fielder Alex McCoy (No. 19 Padres prospect) bashed a pair of home runs for the first multi-home run game of his career. Following a two-run shot in the first inning to put Fort Wayne on the board, McCoy went the other way with a solo home run to right field in the second inning. McCoy leads the team with 15 home runs this season after three in the series.
One pitch later, Jack Costello crushed his 12th home run of the season and 22nd in his TinCaps career. Just the second time this season Fort Wayne has had back-to-back home runs, Costello is now ninth all-time in Fort Wayne franchise history for career home runs.
Costello reached base all five times to the plate, adding a single, double, and was hit by a pitch twice, ending just a triple shy of the cycle.
Third baseman Zach Evans capped off the first inning scoring with a two-run double off the right field wall before adding another two-bagger in the fifth.
Shortstop Justin DeCriscio recorded his team-leading eighth three-hit game of the season with a pair of singles followed by a two-run double in the fifth. Out of the suspension, the ‘Caps scored one in the fourth, the pair on the DeCriscio double in the fifth, and a run in both the eighth and ninth to round out an offensive slugfest. Seven of nine starters recorded a hit with all nine reaching base at least once.
Right-hander Abraham Parra worked in relief after the resumption in the bottom of the second and earned the win after 5 1/3 innings pitched. Parra allowed four runs on five hits and four walks but also struck out five.
With the win, Fort Wayne is one game back of the Loons in the Midwest League Second-Half Eastern Division standings, tied with the West Michigan Whitecaps in second place.
