Residents invited to ask questions about proposed homeless resource center
Fort Wayne, Indiana (June 24, 2026) – Local residents are now invited to ask questions or leave comments about a proposed homeless resource center on the City of Fort Wayne’s Engage Fort Wayne website at.
The City launched the online engagement page today, and questions and comments will be taken for two weeks, until 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 9. All comments and answers to questions will be posted online by the following Tuesday, July 14 at the end of the day. Comments and questions must meet all moderation guidelines on the Engage website.
The proposed resource center, operated by the newly formed nonprofit agency Anchor Resource Center, will serve as a 24/7 hub for families and individuals facing homelessness. The center will provide coordinated services to connect people experiencing homelessness with housing, job training and employment, and mental and physical healthcare. A link to videos, frequently asked questions and information about the center can be found at www.AnchorResourceCenter.org.
“This online engagement tool allows us to answer all questions thoroughly while also offering residents the chance to submit questions and comments any time of day or night from their phones or computers,” said Chief of Staff Andrew Downs. “Residents will have the option of posting questions anonymously, as long as they provide the zip code of their home address.”
