The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the closure of eastbound State Road 1/Dupont Road for city utility repairs.

Eastbound S.R. 1 to close for sewer repairs
Allen County, Indiana (June 19, 2026) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the closure of eastbound State Road 1/Dupont Road for city utility repairs.
Starting on or after June 22, crews will work on sewer repairs between Oak Xing and Tonkel Road/N. Clinton Street. The eastbound lanes will be closed for approximately four days, with one lane of eastbound S.R.1/Dupont Road expected to reopen by Thursday, June 25. Eastbound S.R. 1/Dupont Road is expected to fully reopen by Monday, June 29. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
During the closure, eastbound through traffic will be restricted at Diebold Road and should seek an alternate route. Local access will remain available for eastbound traffic up to Oak Xing.
INDOT and the City of Fort Wayne are working together on this project with INDOT providing traffic control and roadway repairs and Fort Wayne providing sewer repairs.
INDOT encourages drivers to consider safety for all by slowing down, using extra caution and driving distraction-free when travelling in and around all work zones.
