On May 27, 2026, at 2359 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire department was dispatched to a house fire in the 3000 block of Sandarac Lane, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and found fire in the garage area of the structure. An aggressive attack on the fire was initiated as well as an aggressive search of the house for victims. It was reported that all occupants had safely self-evacuated the structure. The Fire was extinguished in roughly 15 minutes, and extensive overhaul of the fire area was completed. Crews remained on the scene looking for hot spots and salvaging personal belongings of the residents.
One minor burn of a bystander was reported and treated on the scene by medics. The Fort Wayne Fire Department reminds bystanders and occupants to not attempt to re-enter a structure that is on fire.
