On May 13, 2026, at 2011 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire in the 5500 block of Meadowbrook Drive, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

A neighbor called 9-1-1 and said they could see smoke coming from the house next door. There was also a dog thought to be inside the residence. The first crews arrived in four minutes and found light smoke coming from the house. Crews made entry with hose lines in an aggressive attack on the fire while another crew did a simultaneous search of the structure. No one was located inside the residence. The fire was quickly extinguished.
The dog was found to be in a cage and removed from the structure.
The fire remains under investigation.
