Details/Summary:
Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD) responded to the 200 block of Corwin Ln regarding a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult female suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital, where medical staff determined she was in life-threatening condition.
The FWPD Homicide Team, Crime Scene Unit (CSU), and Air Support Unit (ASU) were called to the scene to continue the investigation. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and canvassing the area for any video evidence that may help determine what occurred. CSU is processing the scene and collecting evidence with assistance from ASU. Interpreters are also on site to help overcome a language barrier that has slowed the investigative process.
