FWPD: Shooting Investigation, Thompson and Scott Avenues

On April 29, 2026, at 1304 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the area of Thompson and Scott Avenues on reports of shots fired.

Details/Summary:

Officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the area of Thompson Ave. and Scott Ave. following reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a 16-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where his injuries were determined to be non-life-threatening. Preliminary information indicates the suspect fired at the victim from a vehicle before fleeing the area.

At this time, there is no ongoing threat to the public.

This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department Detective Bureau.
