On June 9, 2025, at 2321 hours, the Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to the 5000 block of Decatur Road on the report of a fire coming from the roof of a commercial building.
Time of Alarm: 2321 hours
On Scene: 2325 hours
Under Control: 2359 hours
Fort Wayne Fire Engine 11 arrived first on the scene and extinguished a fire in the attic of a retail store. The fire had spread to roofing materials. Several fire crews worked in and outside of the building to extinguish the fire.
No persons were in the building at the time of the fire, no injuries occurred, and the cause is being investigated.
Fire Damage: Moderate
Water Damage: Moderate
Smoke Damage: Minor
Several agencies worked to resolve this emergency incident. They included: 9-1-1 Communications, the City of Fort Wayne Neighborhood Code Enforcement, the Allen County Board of Health, the Allen County Building Department, the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, NIPSCO, and Indiana Michigan Power.
