FWFD: Franke Plating fire

This post is based on a news release from the Fort Wayne Fire Department.

Fort Wayne Fire Department units responded to a report of smoke from Franke Plating at 2109 East Washington Boulevard at 12:52 am. Upon arrival, first crews determined that Franke Plating was the source of the fire and smoke.

Firefighters took action to extinguish the fire and make sure that no one was still inside. Crews battled the fire for over 2 1/2 hours before gaining control. The roof collapsed over a portion of the structure, limiting access to areas that continued to burn. No injuries were reported during the fire.

The cause is still under investigation at this time.

The Three Rivers Ambulance Authority assisted the Fort Wayne Fire Department, Fort Wayne Police Department, Indiana Michigan Power, NIPSCO, City of Fort Wayne Utility Person, and Department of Homeland Security.
