Coroner: Fatal hit-skip vehicle accident victim ID

The Allen County Coroner has released the identity of the victim of a fatal hit-skip vehicle accident that occurred on Easter morning, April 4, 2021.

Fort Wayne, Indiana (April 6, 2021) – On Sunday, April 4, 2021, at about 1:25 am the Allen County Coroner’s Office was notified of a fatal crash located in the intersection of McKinnie Avenue and Lafayette Street, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, with the Fort Wayne Police Department finding 2 vehicles involved in a crash. The occupants of one vehicle had fled the scene. The second vehicle contained 4 occupants who were all injured, one of which was pronounced deceased on scene.

An autopsy has been conducted and the next of kin has been notified of the death of Samayah Nirobie Barker, female bi-racial 17 years of age from Monroe, Indiana 46772.

The Cause of Death is Blunt Force Injuries due to Motor Vehicle Crash and the Manner of Death is Accident.

Samayah Nirobie Barker is the 13th fatal motor vehicle crash in Allen County for 2021.

This crash is being investigated by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Allen County Coroner’s Office.
