Beginning March 8, Bass Road will be closed from just west of Thomas Road to Hillegas Road. The closure is scheduled to run until the early part of November. Barricades will be placed on Thomas Road notifying of the closure. The marked detour route will be Kroemer Road/Haeman Road to Leesburg Road to Hillegas Road.

Primco, Inc. is the main contractor for this phase of the project after submitting the low bid of $4.6 million. The multi-phased Bass Road project will eventually bring a variety of improvements to the highway extending from Hillegas Road through Scott Road.

  1. Just another road without bike lanes. “Multi-use” paths are simply glorified sidewalks, which are useless for serious cyclists. It’s so awesome constantly dodging pedestrians and having to stop at every side street and driveway. Indiana is the worst state for bicyclists in the US.
