Shooting Investigation

Date: March 5, 2020

Time: 8:47 PM

Location: 2300 block of Shady Brook Drive

Victim: Male / Adult

On Thursday, 03/05/2020, at approximately 8:47 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2300 block of Shady Brook Drive reference a shooting. Officers arrived and located the male/adult victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. Paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital his condition was downgraded to life-threatening by a physician.

Preliminary information indicates there was some type of disturbance prior to the shooting. Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood and speaking with potential witnesses. In addition, witnesses have been transported to police headquarters for interviews. Detectives hope to have additional information once those interviews are completed. There is no suspect information to provide at this time.
