On February 25, 2020, at 1248 hours, the Fort Wayne Police Department was dispatched to the 4700 block of Jason Drive regarding an unknown problem.

Victim: Female, Black, Adult
Details/Summary:
Officers were called to 4700 Jason Dr at approximately 12:48pm reference a reported Unknown Problem. Preliminary reports said it was possibly a shooting or a stabbing. When officers arrived they determined that it was most likely a stabbing. The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was said to have life threatening injuries. Later the victim did succumb to her injury while undergoing treatment.
A description of a possible suspect and vehicle description was given. Homicide detectives quickly were able to locate the person of interest and take her into custody. This was done so without incident. Detectives are currently interviewing that person.
At this time this is an ongoing investigation and further details will be released when we are able to do so. The victim’s identity will be released by the Allen County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
