On January 22, 2020, the Fort Wayne Police Department released the following statement:
We do have reason to believe that the Logan Avenue, Euclid Avenue and Senate Street shootings are all linked. We do have person(s) of interest in these shootings. We are looking for additional information and are asking for the communities help. If you have ANY information, no matter how small you think it is, call us at 427-1201 and ask to speak to a homicide detective. These acts of violence are not acceptable and are not what we should accept as normal. Come forward and help us stop this.

Shooting Investigation
Date: January 12, 2020
Time: 0157 hours
Location: 3200 block of Logan Avenue, Fort Wayne, Indiana
Victim: Eight-year-old Male
Details/Summary:
On Sunday, 01/12/2020, at approximately 1:57 AM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 3200 block of Logan Avenue reference a shooting. Officers arrived and located the juvenile victim inside a residence. They observed the victim had an apparent gunshot wound to his shoulder/chest. Paramedics transported the juvenile to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital his condition was downgraded to life-threatening by a physician.
Preliminary information indicates the victim was inside the residence and gunshots were fired from outside the residence. Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses that were inside the residence at the time of the shooting.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Anyone with information is asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at (260) 427-1222 or Crime Stoppers at (260) 436-7867.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
