USF Hosts Photojournalists Stephanie Sinclair and Project Simple
(August 8, 2018) — The University of Saint Francis will be hosting special events featuring nationally known photographers.
Friday, August 31 -Artist Lecture: Stephanie Sinclair
7:30 p.m., Mimi and Ian Rolland Art and Visual Communication Center, 2701 Spring Street
Stephanie Sinclair examines the troubling practice of early, forced and child marriage as it appears in a variety of world cultures. She has received international humanitarian awards for this body of work and has established a non-profit organization with a mission to protect girls’ rights and end child marriage. This lecture is made possible by Canon Photography’s “Explorers of Light” Series and is free to the public.
September 4-October 21 – Project Simple: Photographs by Chelsea Nix and Mariano Cortez of Project Simple

Wednesday, October 3 – Artist Lectures: Chelsea Nix of Project Simple

Photographers Chelsea Nix and Mariano Cortez established PROJECT SIMPLE, a non-profit organization devoted to supplying clean water and nutritional food to impoverished communities throughout the world. Their work has been featured in National Geographic and other major publications. Nix will present two lectures focusing on her photography and their organization.
The University of Saint Francis is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
