League of Historic American Theatres (LHAT) Brings Regional Conference to Fort Wayne

(April 3, 2017) – Fort Wayne is pleased to be hosting the League of Historic American Theatres (LHAT) Regional Conference this April 4-6.

The conference will bring the directors of 60 historic theatres to Fort Wayne, where they will host their quarterly board meeting and enjoy a regional conference to discuss historic theatre best practices from around the nation.
In addition to networking with LHAT Board members, participants will attend engaging educational sessions that provide practical and pertinent insights led by the leaders in the field of historic theatre restoration, renovation and maintenance as well as theatre operations and fundraising.

Founded in 1976 by 42 charter theatre members, the League of Historic American Theatres, Inc., a non-profit membership association, has grown into a network of more than 300 historic theatres throughout the United States and Canada. Members include the Nederlander, Shubert, and Disney Broadway houses as well as theatres of all shapes and sizes in large and small communities including film, live performance and other mixed-use facilities.

The event is being held in Fort Wayne in large part to Kelly Updike, executive Director of the Embassy Theatre, and LHAT member. “We are honored to host the League of Historic American Theatres’ board meeting and 2017 regional conference,” she adds. “Historic theater operators and service providers from across the country are coming to Fort Wayne, making this a great opportunity to share the Embassy with League colleagues and network with these highly skilled professionals.”

The event will take place at the Embassy Theatre and Hilton at the Grand Wayne Center.
