Shooting Investigation
Date/Time of Incident: 08/11/2016 – 7:40 p.m.
Location of Incident: 700 block of Philley Avenue
Victims: Male Adult Critical Condition
On Thursday August 11, 2016 at approximately 7:40 PM, officers with the Fort Wayne Police Department responded to a residence located in the 700 block of Philley Avenue in reference to a shooting investigation. Officers and paramedics located a male adult victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside a vehicle which was located in the 4600 block of South Hanna. Paramedics provided medical attention to the victim before transporting him to a local hospital in critical condition.
Investigators advised that it appears that a robbery occurred outside a residence in the 700 block of Philley as gunshots were fired. The victim got into a vehicle and was transported a short distance to the 4600 block of Hanna where he received medical attention. Witnesses advised that two male suspects were seen running eastbound from the scene after the gunshots were heard.
Investigators are speaking with witnesses to collect additional information. At this time, no arrests have been made. The victims identity is being withheld pending family notification.
This incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecutors Office.
