Game recap from the TinCaps:

Logan Leads TinCaps to 3-0 Win
Three Fort Wayne Pitchers Face the Minimum Against West Michigan

(May 23, 2016) – Three TinCaps pitchers combined to face the minimum 27 batters and two-hit the West Michigan Whitecaps (Detroit Tigers) in a 3-0 win on a beautiful Monday night at Parkview Field.

On his 19th birthday, TinCaps left-handed starter Logan Allen turned in the best performance of his pro career and powered Fort Wayne (23-21) to the victory to earn the series split with the Whitecaps (22-19).

Allen, who’s the youngest pitcher in the Midwest League, spun a career-high six innings of shutout ball and faced the minimum 18 batters. The left-hander fanned five, didn’t walk a Whitecap, and surrendered two hits — both of which were promptly followed by double plays.

The TinCaps gave Allen some early run support with a pair in the first. After shortstop Ruddy Giron reached on an error to start the frame and second baseman Kodie Tidwell doubled, third baseman Carlos Belen and center fielder Michael Gettys each delivered an RBI single.

Fort Wayne added an insurance run in the sixth inning when first baseman Ty France doubled to right-center field with two outs to score Gettys from first. All three runs came off starter Sandy Baez (L, 1-5), although only one run was earned.

West Michigan (22-19) mustered little against Allen and nothing at all against Gerardo Reyes (two innings) and Trey Wingenter (S, 1), who worked the ninth.

The TinCaps finished their homestand at 4-3, having split this four-game set with the Whitecaps.
