Game recap from the TinCaps:

TinCaps 3, Clinton LumberKings 2

CLINTON, Iowa (May 2, 2016) – First baseman Brad Zunica hit a two-run home run over the center-field fence in the top of the ninth inning to lead the TinCaps to a come-from-behind, 3-2 win over the Clinton LumberKings on Monday night.

Fort Wayne (14-11) was down 2-1 with Kodie Tidwell at second base and one out when Zunica came up against Clinton’s Darin Gillies (L, 3-1). The 6-foot-6, 20-year-old hammered his team-leading fourth homer of the season that cleared the high wall.

Tidwell was pinch-running for catcher Austin Allen, who led the frame off with a single. The comeback occurred after Gillies pitched a perfect seventh and eighth.

Clinton (15-9) took a 2-1 lead with a pair of runs in the fourth against Enyel De Los Santos. The right-hander allowed hits to the first two batters he faced out of the bullpen, and then retired 12 consecutive batters. De Los Santos was pitching against former teammates in the Mariners organization. (He was acquired by the Padres during an off-season trade.)

Gerardo Reyes (W, 2-0) worked the final two frames for the win without allowing a hit. Starter Jacob Nix threw three scoreless innings.

Fort Wayne initially led 1-0 when center fielder Michael Gettys brought second baseman Peter Van Gansen in from third with an infield single. Van Gansen had walked and advanced on a sacrifice bunt and a fly ball to right field.

The TinCaps have come from behind to win in seven of their 14 victories, including twice in the last week when trailing after eight.
