Great Park Pick Up – Volunteers Needed

(April 13, 2016) — The Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation Department is teaming up with The Volunteer Center for the 1st Annual Great Park Pick Up event on Saturday, April 23, 9 am – Noon. Volunteers are invited to help clear out the clutter of winter to ensure our parks will be safe and inviting for visitors. All ages are welcome to join in.

Volunteers are needed at the following locations:

  • Lions Park, Carew & Hazelwood – General park pick-up, spread playground mulch, paint exterior of pavilion, paint parking lot lines (if weather permits).
  • Shoaff Park, 6401 St. Joe Rd. – General park pick-up, paint exterior of Conklin Pavilion.
  • Community Center, 233 W. Main St.—Paint interior rooms.

Volunteers are welcome to join in at any of the above named parks, but are also encouraged to organize events at other parks. For more information or to sign up, please dial 211 or call (877) 502-0700 toll-free.
