What: CO.STARTERS: business development program for artists and creatives

CO.STARTERS starts Thursday, March 3, 2016, at Artlink Contemporary Gallery, 300 E. Main Street, and will be facilitated by Steve Franks. The nine week class costs $250 for Artlink members and $275 for the general public.
CO.STARTERS is a nine-week program that helps artists and other creatives turn their passions into businesses. It meets once a week for three hours. Throughout the course, participants identify and test their ideas through customer interactions, develop a functioning business model, learn valuable management and marketing skills, and receive constructive feedback from advisers, peers, and former grads. Facilitators are experienced entrepreneurs who are well connected in the business community. Guest speakers share the challenges they faced while starting and growing businesses, and business professionals from leading accounting and law firms offer their support to program participants. At the end, you’ll have the tools, framework, and momentum needed to make your vision a reality-the best part is you won’t be in it alone. This program is appropriate for anyone interested in turning their passion into a business.
Some past CO.STARTERS graduates include: Bird Boy Brewing, Expressions Art Gallery, Bel Air Photography, Focal Nova, and Jane Heald Cello.
