Mad Ants Clinch Spot in Playoffs
(April 4, 2015) – The Mad Ants, sponsored by Lutheran Health Network, defeated the Sioux Falls Skyforce 101-97 on Saturday, April 4th at the Allen Co. War Memorial Coliseum to clinch a spot in the playoffs.
The Mad Ants took a quick start to the first quarter, jumping out to a dominant lead early. CJ Fair showed a continuation of his Friday night performance, jumping out early to 9 points in the first quarter. By the half, the Mad Ants lead grew to thirteen as they headed into the locker room up 57-44. Jordan Crawford would find himself in double figures, leading Fort Wayne with 13 points.
The start of the second half swung to the Mad Ants favor, posting leads of up to 19 late in the third quarter. The Skyforce would not go down without a fight; with just seconds on the clock, they were able to push the Mad Ants to a tight two point lead. A set of free throws from Matt Bouldin with 11 seconds remaining sealed the victory and the playoff berth for the Mad Ants. Fair led all scorers on the night with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Trey McKinney-Jones and Bouldin would each record 18 points.
For the Skyforce, Shawn Jones and Scotty Hopson led with 19 points, with Jones also grabbing down 14 rebounds.
