Dupont Hospital invests $4.2 million to renovate outpatient surgery center
Endoscopy and pain services will be enhanced with new space and equipment

(March 19, 2015) – In recent weeks, Dupont Hospital began preliminary work on a $4.2 million renovation of its Ambulatory Surgery Center, located within the medical office building at 2510 E. Dupont Rd. on the hospital’s campus.

Endoscopy and pain management suites are being refreshed and streamlined to improve both the workflow for clinicians and the overall experience for patients. The 2510 Building currently contains numerous medical providers, and the hospital’s outpatient surgery center, which will also receive cosmetic updates and remain open throughout the project.

“Dupont Hospital is excited to create a more comforting environment for our guests and add efficiencies for our clinical team members,” said Chad Towner, CEO, Dupont Hospital. “This project is another demonstration of our Dupont Difference as we always strive to enhance the patient experience.”

The crux of the project includes repurposing and refreshing six suites; three rooms have been designated for endoscopy and three for pain management procedures. The remodeling will update flooring, lighting and furnishings in the exam rooms, offices and waiting areas. New equipment will be added for many diagnostic procedures and a new nurse call system will support patient communications.

The project is scheduled to be completed in fall 2015. Weigand Construction is managing the project and MKM Architecture + Design is responsible for the design work.

The 2510 Medical Office Building on the Dupont Business and Medical Park first opened in 1990. Dupont Hospital opened in April 2001. Among its numerous achievements, Dupont has been named one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the U.S. by independent surveyors twice, first in 2012, and again in 2015.
