Critical Injury Investigation, 2400 block of Lynn Avenue

Victim: Adult Male, Critical Condition
On Sunday, 03/15/2015, at approximately 6:47 PM, the City of Fort Wayne Police Department responded to the 2400 block of Lynn Avenue reference the report of a male victim that was found unresponsive. Witnesses reported they located the victim inside his apartment lying at the bottom of the stairs. Officers arrived on scene and observed the male/adult victim suffered trauma to his head and face. Medics transported the victim to a local hospital in serious condition. Upon arriving at the hospital, the victim’s condition was downgraded to critical condition by a physician. Per department protocol, the Homicide Team and Crime Scene Units were summoned to assist in this critical injury investigation.
Detectives are currently interviewing potential witnesses and neighbors. Crime Scene Technicians are processing the scene and collecting possible evidence.
This incident remains under investigation by the City of Fort Wayne Police Department and the Allen County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. There are no additional details regarding this investigation at this time.
