Prairie Farms Announces Winners of “Pouring It On” Grand Prize
Carlinville, IL (September 8, 2014) – Orlan Williams of Huntington, IN was announced as the Grand Prize winner of the Prairie Farms Pouring It On sweepstakes hosted in celebration of June Dairy Month. Williams received a year’s worth of select dairy products, $1,000, and the Our Caps, Your Cause Charity of his choice also received $1,000.
Williams selected the Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana, Inc.,Fort Wayne, In to receive the $1,000 prize. “My wife and I struggled financially and went through a period of situational poverty. Organizations like the Community Harvest Food Bank provided us with assistance that helped us get “over the hump” during those rough times,” said Williams.
Prairie Farms will be presenting the checks to Williams and Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana, Inc. on Tuesday September 16th at 9:00 a.m. The presentation will be located at the Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana, Inc in Fort Wayne, In.
Jane Avery, Executive Director of Community Harvest Food Bank, Inc. stated, “We will use this contribution to replenish our shelves for dairy products that are highly nutritious and much-needed for our neighbors in need.”
During the month of June Prairie Farms hosted the Pouring It On campaign in celebration of National Dairy Month. For the duration of the month, consumers could enter to win 1 of 500 prize packages. Prairie Farms also donated over 10,000 gallons of milk to local food banks, including Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana, Inc.
“We enjoy these opportunities to donate to organizations within our community that are making a difference,” said Chuck McQuaig, General Manager at Prairie Farms Fort Wayne. “We also were able to bring attention to the need for milk at food banks and the Great American Milk Drive,” McQuaig added.
