Trine University celebrates new School of Health Sciences
ANGOLA, Ind. (August 26, 2014) – Everyone is invited to attend Trine University’s celebration of its new Health Sciences campus and inaugural class of physical therapy students.
The Friday, Sept. 5, event begins at 9 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the opening of the Health Sciences Education Center, 1819 Carew St., Fort Wayne. After the ribbon cutting, guests are welcome to tour the recently renovated facility that features anatomy and clinical laboratories and classrooms. At 10:30 a.m., a white coat ceremony will laud the inaugural class of Doctor of Physical Therapy students.
“We are so proud of our new physical therapy program and newly renovated Health Sciences Education Center,” said Earl D. Brooks II, Ph.D., Trine president. “It’s an exciting new chapter for Trine University and I hope visitors will take this opportunity to see what we have to offer.”
Trine’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program was granted candidacy status in late July from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE). Trine students will benefit from collaborations with Parkview Health, Lutheran Hospital, Turnstone (rehabilitation services) and other regional facilities. Working with regional partners affords students greater access to professional, clinical experiences and internships.
Classes for physical therapy students are at capacity and began Monday (Aug. 26).
