Small threat for severe weather Monday evening/night

(April 27, 2014) – Showers and scattered thunderstorms will begin to move into the area this evening, and persist through Monday morning. While only small hail and gusty winds are expected with this initial round of storms, heavy rain will be possible. More storms could develop across Central Illinois Monday evening, which could affect southwest portions of the area through Monday night. A few of these storms could become strong to severe, with the main threats being large hail, heavy rain, and possibly an isolated tornado.
