News release from the Embassy Theatre:
National Tour of Menopause The Musical® plays Fort Wayne
April 3 for one performance only!
(February 25, 2014) – GFour Productions, winners of 54 Drama Desk and 44 Tony Awards is proudly bringing the international hit show Menopause The Musical® to Fort Wayne and will play The Embassy Theatre on Thursday, April 3 for one performance. Menopause The Musical® is a groundbreaking celebration of women who are on the brink of, in the middle of, or have survived “The Change.” Tickets can be purchased at the Embassy Theatre box office, www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 800.745.3000 when the tickets go on sale this Friday, Feb. 28. Tickets are priced at $40 and $50, plus applicable fees.
From its first performance, Menopause The Musical® has evolved as a “grassroots” movement of women who deal with life adjustments after 40 and all the challenges that result in the mental, physical and spiritual freedom of the post-World War II baby boomer generation.
Set in a department store, four women with seemingly nothing in common but a black lace bra meet by chance at a lingerie sale. The all-female cast makes fun of their woeful hot flashes, forgetfulness, mood swings, wrinkles, night sweats and chocolate binges. A sisterhood is created between these diverse women as they realize that menopause is no longer “The Silent Passage.” It is a stage in every woman’s life that is perfectly normal.
Menopause The Musical® is produced by GFour Productions. The laughter-filled 90-minute production includes parodies from classic pop songs of the ‘60s ‘70s and ‘80s. It is estimated that nearly 11 million women have attended a performance since the 2001 opening in Orlando, FL. Inspired by a hot flash and a bottle of wine, writer Jeanie Linders created the show as a celebration of women who find themselves at any stage of “The Change.”
Menopause The Musical® recently celebrated its 3,000th performance and was named the longest-running scripted production in Las Vegas. The hilarious musical has entertained audiences across the country in more than 450 U.S. cities, nearly 300 international cities and a total of 15 countries.
