  • The TinCaps have won six of their last 10 games, including two straight on the road against West Division-leading Beloit.
  • Starting pitcher Joe Ross, 20, won Sunday’s game with six scoreless innings, while starting pitcher Walker Weickel, 19, won Monday’s game with six innings of three-run ball.
  • Friday night Fort Wayne will face Quad Cities starter Mark Appel, who was selected last month by the Houston Astros with the No. 1 overall pick in the MLB Draft. The River Bandits also have the 2012 No. 1 overall selection, shortstop Carlos Correa. It’s the first time in the history of Minor League Baseball that consecutive No. 1 overall picks are on the same team.
