The National Weather Service’s weather story for today:

An active weather day is expected on Thursday as the threat for heavy rainfall and severe weather increases. A warm front will move north across the area during the morning hours on Thursday with temperatures expected to rise into the 70s. A strong cold front and line of strong to severe thunderstorms will then move into western portions of the area by late afternoon on Thursday and race across the rest of the area through Thursday evening. The main threat from these thunderstorms will be damaging winds and large hail, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out. Significant severe weather is possible for areas west of Interstate 69. Heavy rainfall is also likely with amounts of generally 1 to 3 inches by Friday morning, with locally higher amounts possible. A Flood Watch is in effect until Friday morning.
