Shooting Investigation – Critical Condition

Date/Time of Incident: March 15, 2014 at 3:28 a.m.

Location of Incident: 3400 block of Reed Street

Victim: Adult Male

On March 15th, 2013 Officers of the Fort Wayne Police Department were dispatched to the 3400 block of Reed Street in reference to a call of a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male, lying in the middle of the roadway, in the 3300 block of Reed Street. The victim appeared to have suffered gun shot wounds. The victim was in critical condition at the scene and was transported to a local hospital.

Witnesses reported that they had heard several gunshots and that the adult male was pushed out of a four door car. The four door vehicle was last seen at northbound on Reed Street. A short time later, a four door vehicle was located at the intersection of a Colerick Street and Oliver Street after it crashed into a bush. This is a short distance from 3400 block of Reed Street. At this time, investigators believe this vehicle may be the same vehicle that was used in the 3400 block of Reed Street. Witnesses reported that the four door vehicle crashed into a bush and a subject fled the scene of foot, leaving the vehicle behind. This four door vehicle has been towed for processing by Crime Scene Technicians.

This investigation remains is ongoing at this time.
