On behalf of the company, Karla Wygant, business technical support manager at Do it Best Corp., recently accepted a Patriot Award from the Indiana Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the Department of Defense. The award recognizes individuals and organizations that provide outstanding cooperation and support for employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve.

“As an organization, Do it Best Corp. is extremely understanding and supportive of the unique challenges today’s working soldiers face, so this is an award I share with everyone here,” Wygant said. “The incredible effort our working soldiers put forth is inspiring, so we’re proud to support and accommodate their busy and demanding schedules as they selflessly answer our country’s call to serve.”

In his nomination, Staff Sergeant James Elliott, a member of Wygant’s IT team at Do it Best Corp., cited the company’s efforts to accommodate his drill schedule, annual training regimen and other service-related duties that periodically keep him away from his job at the memberowned co-op.

“Karla and Do it Best have been so wonderfully supportive of my military obligations,” Elliott explained. “The level of dedication and support here means the world to me and my family, and it plays an important role in maintaining the overall strength and readiness of our National Guard and Reserve units.”

“We understand and fully appreciate the sacrifice our ‘citizen warriors’ make on behalf of their families, their employers and their country when they choose to serve,” said Bob Taylor, president and CEO of Do it Best Corp. “This is why we do everything we can to support their service and accommodate the demands it places on their schedules. We are excited to have Karla cited for this recognition and proud of both her and Staff Sergeant Elliott as team members of Do it Best Corp.”
