IPFW and Purdue Tuition and Student Fees Subject of Public Hearing

(May 17, 2011) – The Executive Committee of Purdue University’s Board of Trustees will conduct a public hearing Friday, May 27, on proposed increases in tuition and mandatory fees for the 2011-12 and 2012-13 academic years. The hearing will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the
Stewart Center, Room 326 on the Purdue-West Lafayette campus.

A video conference connection will permit public input from Purdue’s regional campuses. At Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne (IPFW), the interactive hearing will be available in Kettler Hall, Room G-20. The proposed fee increases will be discussed and the public will have an opportunity to comment. The Executive Committee will act on behalf of the board and will vote on the fee proposal during the meeting. Those wishing to speak at the hearing should notify the Board of Trustees office in advance at 765-494-9710 or e-mail trustees@purdue.edu.

Purdue’s Board of Trustees today (May 17, 2011) recommended a 3.5 percent base increase in each of the next two academic years for students at the West Lafayette campus. The recommended increase for IPFW students is 2.5 percent per credit hour. That means if the increase is approved, in-state IPFW students will pay about six dollars more or $248 per credit hour; non-resident students would see pay about $15 more or $597 per credit hour for the 2011-12 school year.
