FWPD needs help identifying robbery suspect

Department Seeks to Identify Suspect in Attempted Robbery

Date/Time of Incident: May 4, 2011 / 4:54 a.m.
Location of Incident: 3833 S. Calhoun Street
Victim: Rickers Gas Station

The Fort Wayne Police Department is presently investigating an attempted armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at approximately 4:54 a.m. at the Rickers Gas Station located at 3833 S. Calhoun Street. A male subject reportedly approached the counter demanding money from the store clerk. The suspect was holding a white plastic bag which appeared to contain a heavy object (believed to be an unopened bottle of Crown Royal), and threatened to injure the store clerk with it. The suspect fled the scene, and there was no reported loss.

Investigators have obtained still images captured via in-store video surveillance of the incident, and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect. Suspect Description: male Hispanic, early to mid-twenties, approximately 5’4″ to 5’5″, described as having a ‘husky build’, and ‘patchy’ facial hair; last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.
