Stutzman Votes to Lower Federal Spending

(Washington, D.C. – March 17, 2011) – Today, Congressman Marlin Stutzman (IN-03) voted for H. R. 1076, cutting deficit spending originally designated for National Public Radio (NPR).

“This is a small step in lowering the deficit and controlling spending.” Stutzman commented “Every program must be under scrutiny during this time of budget crisis. We must look at controlling all discretionary spending to protect the obligations we have to seniors with Social Security and Medicare.”

Congressman Stutzman represents the 3rd Congressional District of Indiana and serves on the House Committee on Agriculture, the House Committee on the Budget and the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, Subcommittee on Economic Opportunity. Indiana’s 3rd District contains all of DeKalb, Kosciusko, Lagrange, Noble, Steuben, and Whitley counties; as well as parts of Allen and Elkhart counties.
